CNY Specials in Chinatown London

Welcome the Year of the Dragon with exclusive food and drink specials across Chinatown London this Chinese New Year!


The deliciously decadent dessert shop will be serving a Red Bean combo special for the CNY period: Original waffle filled with red bean gelato, matcha cookies and topped with fresh strawberries.

Bun House

Tuck into CNY buns at Bun House! Indulge in their new lantern bun and tea set: a miso brown sugar bun, beautifully crafted into the shape of a traditional red lantern along with a selection of baskets filled with limited edition dishes like Kung Pao meatballs and char siu pork. 

China Modern

China Modern will have a special Chinese New Year menu available with traditional dishes including braised free range chicken with Shaoxing wine, steamed Turbot fish and mini glutinous balls in rice wine sweet soup.


Opium have curated a special Year of the Dragon cocktail menu for the Chinese New Year festivities with three exclusive cocktails in partnership with Ming River. Red Dragon River has zesty notes of Kaffir lime and lemon with floral flavours of rose. Ming Fashioned is a spin on a classic Old Fashioned and Dragon Spritz combines the bitterness of Campari and grapefruit with the sweetness of passionfruit.

Plum Valley

Plum Valley have reintroduced their CNY menu for the festivities, welcoming the Year of the Dragon with mouth watering dishes of good fortune. Including their ever popular tangerine shaped custard buns, coconut glutinous rice cakes, turnip cake with Chinese sausage and dried shrimp and their New Year sashimi salad.

Rasa Sayang

Celebrate LNY 2024 with Singaporean Yu Sheng salad – the symbolic sharing dish that’s said to bring longevity, peace and prosperity – best enjoyed with loved ones. The ritual of eating Yu Sheng is very important in itself. In a celebration called Lo Hei (translating literally to “toss high”); families and friends gather around the dining table and toss the ingredients into the air with chopsticks, whilst shouting out auspicious wishes to usher in prosperity for the New Year.


Sakurado has introduced a selection of sweet celebratory treats, each decorated to represent the Year of the Dragon and CNY celebrations. From firecrackers, flowers, tangerines and lucky bamboo, the intricacy of these cakes will leave you in awe. Additionally, there will be dragon choux buns, coin cookies and Nian Gao (new year’s cake).

Speedboat Bar

Speedboat Bar will be kicking off celebrations early with a special menu for the CNY period. Menu highlights include the umami-heavy gui chai tord sai khai, a pan-fried chive cake loaded with soy sauce and gooey egg yolks, and yam pla salmon.
