Dubbed the Chinese Valentine’s Day, Qixi is a festival based on the romantic legend of a Zhinü, a weaver girl and Niulang, an ox herder. The pair’s relationship was forbidden and they lived on separate sides of the Silver River. Once a year a flock of magpies would form a bridge to reunite the lovers for one day. Qixi takes place at the end of August each year, to celebrate, here’s the most romantic things you can do in Chinatown to impress your lover.
