Feeling hungry and courageous? Go on an experimental culinary journey at China Exchange’s Eat What?! An Evening of Unfamiliar Food.

How adventurous is your palate? Bold and brave or shy and retiring? If you fancy pushing the culinary envelope and tasting some unlikely dishes then this event at the China Exchange is right up your taste buds’ street. Eat What?! An Evening of Unfamiliar Food will introduce you to three weird and wonderful things, each introduced by an expert.

Bugs for breakfast, anyone? Course one will be – you guessed it – insects. Presented by Saiphin Moore, Rosa’s Thai Café founder, they’ll make the case for nibbling on creepy crawlies as an alternative to the global food crisis and as a method of reducing the impact of meat farming

Course two will be of a diary variety; cheese. Known in Chinese as ‘old milk’ it’s not made a big splash in the Far East. Neal’s Yard Dairy’s Wholesale Manager, Srdja Mastilovic will walk and talk you through everything fromage related, bite by bite.

Finally, get to know your fermentation with pickling pro, James of Kim Kong Kimchi. A specialist pickle emporium who supply to the Capital’s finest eateries. You’ll discover the science behind what really goes on in that tightly sealed Kilner jars…
