MID AUTUMN FESTIVAL

📅 15 SEPT 2027

📍 ACROSS THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

A celebration of moonlight, mooncakes and moments together. Also known as the Moon Festival, this centuries-old tradition celebrates togetherness, gratitude and reunion. From beautifully crafted mooncakes to glowing lanterns and family feasts, it's a time to reconnect, share good food and embrace the traditions that make this festival so special.

WHAT IS THE MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL?

Celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth month of the Chinese lunar calendar, the Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most important traditional Chinese celebrations, second only to Chinese New Year. The festival takes place when the moon is traditionally considered at its fullest and brightest, symbolising unity, harmony and family reunion.

Rooted in centuries of folklore, including the legend of Chang'e, the Moon Goddess, the celebration brings together ancient traditions and contemporary interpretations.

MOONCAKES: THE TASTE OF MID-AUTUMN

No Mid-Autumn Festival is complete without mooncakes. These intricately decorated pastries are traditionally gifted and shared between family, friends and loved ones as symbols of togetherness and good fortune.

From classic lotus seed paste and salted egg yolk fillings to contemporary interpretations featuring matcha, chocolate and custard, mooncakes are as diverse as the people who enjoy them.
