Enjoy your boxes in the aromatic open air of Newport Place, where brand new outdoor tables are decorated with two traditional motifs; the koi carp, representing perseverance and courage through adversity; and the Lotus Flower, a symbol of self-regeneration and revival.

As well as the new boxes, we’re also making a kaleidoscopic change to the area by switching out Chinatown’s iconic red lanterns for brand new multicoloured versions. Some of the new lanterns have been signed by members of the local community, venue owners and public figures, in a special ceremony.

We’re also launching a digital messaging screen in Newport Place, for you to share your well-wishes and messages of love. Once live you’ll be able to share your message via a special web-link for all to see in Chinatown. We all need a little love right now so please do send your positive vibes and thoughts of hope for the rest of 2020 and beyond.
